We are often asked about bringing children to Hotel de Vie. Unfortunately for those people, we do not allow children in the hotel at any time.

Our hotel is strictly an over 18s venue, for the principle reason that our guests prefer it that way.

It is however also a restriction of our bar licence that we are not allowed children in the ‘bar area’ at any time, even though the council will not provide a definition of where our bar ends and our lounge begins, so we err also err on the side of caution.

Many of our leisure travellers in particular, come to stay with us at Hotel de Vie, as a romantic retreat away from their own children.  As a result, they like to relax with their breakfast, with drinks at our bar, or with food in our private restaurant, without the distraction of children running around their feet, or with kids loudly playing in the background.

Our business travellers also prefer the calm, relaxed and informal feel of Hotel de Vie.  A rest bite from their working day, where they can put their feet up, and speak to others in a relaxed but calm but professional environment.

By not allowing children (anyone under 18) in our hotel at any time (even under supervision), it allows us to help develop a relaxing sanctuary for our guests.

It also means that you won’t be woken up at 3am, by a baby crying in one of the rooms.
